As a Department Manager, Grocery, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the grocery department and leading a team, with a focus on customer service and community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute plans to improve product placement and overall store image standards in accordance with company guidelines
  • Ensure that products are properly and creatively displayed
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve cleanliness and sanitation, and store maintenance
  • Actively participate in career progression for team members, with a commitment to help people improve and achieve their goals
  • Motivate and provide staff with the tools and materials required to ensure high quality and efficient job performance
  • Develop and execute displays and specials, giving focus to merchandise requirements and customer needs
  • Problem solve unique issues with the resources at hand and best advice from fellow team members
  • Creatively manage freight and inventory challenges; find ways to "work smart"
  • Use personal skillset to develop knowledge regarding local competition and apply these insights to improve the store's competitive advantage
  • Ensure solid execution of in-store selling activities and marketing programs, aligned with corporate programs and initiatives
  • Develop a weekly schedule to meet the needs of the business, with flexibility to respond to the unique challenges of a remote and isolated location
  • Responsible for ordering products and managing inventory levels to ensure stock is adequately maintained and available for customers.
