As an Assistant Department Manager, Produce, you will support the day-to-day operation of the department, lead and develop team members, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and help drive sales and operational results. This role is ideal for experienced retail professionals looking for accelerated career growth and a unique relocation opportunity.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $41,500 - $54,300 annually
Plus annual performance bonus

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development.
- Coach and motivate team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Assist with scheduling, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Act as Department Manager when required.
Operations & Customer Experience
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain department standards.
- Support achievement of sales, profit, and inventory targets.
- Execute merchandising, pricing, promotions, markdowns, and seasonal programs.
- Maintain inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing shrink.
- Ensure loss prevention, equipment maintenance, and operational standards are followed.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support food safety, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete and maintain required documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food retail environment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with a passion for developing people.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and rotating shifts.
